With our latest digital pre-distortion IC, Optichron continues to drive performance in wireless communications to unprecedented levels. The OP4400 resolves the single biggest source of nonlinear distortion in wireless communications systems, namely the power amplifier, with results that have an outstanding impact on system capabilities.

Product Description

Implemented using our patented linearization technology, the OP4400 is a self-contained digital pre-distortion (DPD) integrated circuit that requires no external processor or peripheral circuitry to significantly enhance the performance of wireless transmitters. Typical levels of ACPR improvement are on the order of 30dB when operating a Doherty class amplifier processing WCDMA, CDMA or WiMAX compliant signals, and operating the amplifier at efficiency levels in excess of 40%. When operating in a multi-carrier GSM environment using the same Doherty class amplifier, one can expect an SFDR performance improvement of greater than 40dBc when compared to performance without the use of our DPD. Additional benefit is derived from the extended bandwidth capability of the OP4400, allowing customers to transmit signal bandwidths of up to 30MHz (with the OP4400-30IB), thus reducing costly and lossy combiners from the signal chain.
